About
Uzi Beller is an Israeli gynecologic oncologist, surgeon, researcher, and professor with a distinguished career in obstetrics, gynecology, and gynecological oncology. He completed his medical education at Hadassah Medical School, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1970-1977), followed by residency and internship at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at New York University Medical Center. His career includes serving as Senior Physician at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem (1983-1985) and New York University Medical Center (1985-1990), Chief of the Department of Surgical Gynecological Oncology at Shaare Zedek Medical Center (1990-2016), and Director of the Center for Women’s Health at Clalit Health Services (1994-2016). He has extensive publications (192 papers, over 11,500 citations) on ovarian cancer, BRCA mutations, and gynecological cancers, and served as President of the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO, 2001-2003) and President of the International Society of Gynecological Cancer (IGCS), as well as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer until 2016. Currently, he is a Senior Surgeon at Assuta Hospital and Professor Emeritus. A former childhood best friend of Benjamin Netanyahu, Beller became a vocal critic, testifying as a witness in Netanyahu's Case 1000 (gifts scandal) and featuring prominently in the 2024 documentary The Bibi Files, where he alleged Netanyahu's chronic dishonesty, habitual sense of entitlement, and personality flaws stemming from his brother Yoni's death. In 2023, he publicly pleaded for halting the judicial overhaul, calling Netanyahu an 'angel of destruction.'
