About
Dr. Yossi Mansharof is an Israeli academic and analyst based in Jerusalem, specializing in Iran, Hezbollah, Shiite militias, and transnational Shiite networks, with a focus on Shiite communities and Iranian affairs. He holds a PhD from the University of Haifa, completed in February 2019, with a dissertation analyzing pro-Iranian transnational Shiite networks in the Persian Gulf region (1963-1989), including interviews with former Iranian officials. He is fluent in Hebrew (native), English, Arabic, and Persian. Currently, he serves as an analyst on Iran and transnational Shia politics at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies (JISS) and the Ezri Center, a researcher at JISS, and a Senior Fellow at the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy. Previously, he worked as a researcher at the Iranian desk of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) from 2006 to 2015, authoring numerous reports on Iranian affairs and Shiite communities, and as a terrorism finance analyst at MM Law Firm. He contributes regular analysis to Israeli and international media outlets on Iranian strategy, Hezbollah, and regional security threats, and maintains an active professional presence on social platforms, including Twitter (@Yossi_Mansharof), for disseminating research insights.
