About
Dr. Joshua Krasna is an expert on strategic and political developments in the Arab world and Middle East, specializing in forecasting and international strategic issues. He is a senior researcher, writer, and university lecturer. He holds a PhD from Bar-Ilan University and is a graduate of Columbia University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is proficient in Hebrew and Arabic. Krasna retired in 2017 after 30 years of service in the Israeli government, where he served as a strategic planner, senior Middle East and strategic analyst, manager of government analytical units, and a former senior official in the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). He also served in the Israeli embassies in Jordan and Canada, and as an Instructor at the Israel National Defense College. His current affiliations include senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Program on the Middle East, the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, and senior researcher at the Program on Democratic Innovations, University of Ottawa.
