About
Stacy Helen Schusterman (born 1963) is an American heiress, philanthropist, business executive, and businesswoman. She is the daughter of oil executive Charles Schusterman, who founded Samson Resources in 1974, and his wife Lynn Schusterman, who succeeded as CEO after Charles's death in 2000. She co-founded Granite Properties and currently serves as the chief executive officer of Samson Energy, continuing her family's legacy in the oil and gas industry. Schusterman also chairs the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies (also known as the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation), managing family assets and directing philanthropic efforts focused on Jewish causes, education, community development in the United States and Israel, and other initiatives. Under her leadership, the foundation has granted hundreds of millions of dollars to support progressive Jewish organizations, civic engagement, and health programs, emphasizing values of tikkun olam (repairing the world) in line with her mother's vision. She maintains a relatively low public profile but is active in political advocacy as a major Democratic donor and an AIPAC board member. In 2020, she donated $1.55 million to the Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI), an advocacy group promoting bipartisan support for Israel within the Democratic Party, demonstrating her influence in U.S. Middle East policy discussions. Her family's vast wealth, including the sale of Samson Resources to a Canadian firm for $7.2 billion in 2011, has brought occasional scrutiny in broader debates about oil industry influence and philanthropy.
