About
ROI Community is an international leadership development network for emerging Jewish social entrepreneurs and innovators, known as 'Visualizers,' founded and funded by the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation (part of Schusterman Family Philanthropies). Established nearly 20 years ago, it selects cohorts of 100-120 individuals annually from over 50 countries based on innovative project proposals addressing social challenges in Jewish life and beyond, such as education, environment, Israel-Diaspora relations, Israeli society, and countering antisemitism. Participants receive intensive training in leadership, fundraising, and impact measurement, microgrants (typically $1,000-$5,000, up to $10,000 per project), and access to a global support network. Key activities include the flagship annual summit in Jerusalem, regional meetups, online platforms like the ROI Visualizer directory, and ongoing mentorship. It was described as 'the most practical form of Jewish Peoplehood' by members. Over nearly two decades, it has cultivated a community of more than 1,700 alumni who have launched impactful initiatives. The program emphasizes maximizing 'return on investment' in human potential and is scheduled to sunset in 2026 after empowering a new generation of change-makers. It maintains a low-profile operational structure with staff based in Jerusalem, focusing on nonprofit capacity-building rather than political advocacy, with no documented major controversies, legal issues, or financial irregularities.
