Robert B. Satloff (born January 28, 1962) is an American historian, writer, orientalist, and expert on Arab and Islamic politics, U.S.-Israel relations, and broader Middle East affairs. Since January 1993, he has served as the Executive Director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), a prominent think tank in Washington, D.C. focused on U.S. policy in the Middle East, where he guides its research, publications, advocacy, and strategic initiatives aimed at informing U.S. policy toward the region, with a focus on U.S.-Israel-Middle East relations. Under his leadership, WINEP has become a key voice in debates on Arab-Israeli dynamics, counterterrorism, and regional stability, producing influential reports and hosting high-level discussions. Satloff's academic background includes a B.A. from Duke University, an M.A. from Harvard University, and a D.Phil. from St. Antony's College at the University of Oxford, where his studies centered on Middle Eastern history and politics.
