Yael Hazony is an Israeli scholar, author, and publishing professional known for her work in Jewish philosophy, education, and the dissemination of Western thought in Hebrew. She is the wife of Yoram Hazony, a prominent conservative philosopher and president of the Herzl Institute. Over the past decade leading up to the early 2020s, she served as Editor-in-Chief of Shalem Press, a Jerusalem-based publishing house affiliated with the Shalem Center, where she oversaw publications including the periodicals Azure and Hebraic Political Studies, as well as first-time Hebrew translations of classics of Western philosophy by thinkers such as Thomas Hobbes and David Hume. She has also been associated with Shalem College in a prior editorial capacity. Currently, Yael Hazony holds the position of Vice President of Operations at the Herzl Institute in Jerusalem, where she joined the leadership alongside Fern Baker. Her professional background is rooted in Israel's intellectual and academic circles, focusing on bridging Jewish thought with broader Western conservative traditions through publishing and institutional leadership.
