Yoram Reuben Hazony (born June 6, 1964, in Rehovot, Israel) is an Israeli-American philosopher, Bible scholar, political theorist, author, and political activist. He earned a BA in East Asian Studies from Princeton University (1986) and a PhD in political philosophy from Rutgers University (1993). After relocating to Israel, he worked at The Jerusalem Post, wrote speeches for Benjamin Netanyahu, and was involved in the early development of the Shalem Center. Hazony serves as the founding president of the Herzl Institute in Jerusalem and is chairman of the Edmund Burke Foundation, which organizes National Conservatism Conferences. He is a prominent advocate for Jewish nationalism and national conservatism, known for his work on nationalism, Jewish philosophy, and conservative thought. He has authored influential works including 'The Virtue of Nationalism' (2018) and 'Conservatism: A Rediscovery' (2022). His ideas emphasize national sovereignty, cultural particularism, and critique liberal internationalism. Based in Jerusalem, he remains active in global conservative movements, bridging philosophy, politics, and theology.
