The Witherspoon Institute is a Princeton, New Jersey-based conservative (social conservative) think tank affiliated with Princeton University, dedicated to advancing Western moral and cultural principles from a Judeo-Christian perspective, with a focus on ethics, culture, and public policy. It was founded by Princeton University professor Robert P. George, Luis Tellez, and others involved with the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. The institute is named after John Witherspoon, a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Robert P. George serves as director.
