About
Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, born on August 21, 1990, is the Crown Prince of Oman, appointed on January 13, 2021, representing the next generation of leadership within the Al Said dynasty. He is the eldest son of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who ascended to the throne in January 2020 following the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said. In addition to his role as heir apparent, he holds the position of Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth (appointed in 2020), where he focuses on cultural preservation, youth development, promoting Omani heritage, and enhancing sports infrastructure. More recently, he has been named Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, underscoring his growing influence in shaping Oman's economic policies and diversification efforts aligned with Vision 2040 goals. His roles reflect Oman's emphasis on modernizing governance while maintaining traditional values. Despite his high-profile positions, Theyazin maintains a relatively low public profile, consistent with Omani royal traditions of discretion and service to the nation. As a key figure in Oman's political landscape, he is positioned to continue his father's legacy of stability and reform.
