About
Stephen E. Strang (born 1951) is an American evangelical publisher, journalist, writer, and political activist. He is the founder and CEO of Charisma Media, a major Christian publishing and media company. Strang began his career as a reporter for The Sentinel Star in Florida. In 1975, at age 24, he persuaded Florida church leaders to launch Charisma magazine, which grew rapidly and became independent within six years. Under his leadership, Charisma merged with Christian Life magazine in 1986, establishing its base in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and bridging evangelical and charismatic Christian communities. Recognized as a key influencer in evangelical circles, Time Magazine named him one of the '25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America' in 2005. At that time, the 54-year-old former journalist was a frequent White House invitee and a favorite of President George W. Bush. He is a best-selling author, with notable works including 'God and Donald Trump,' which President Trump displayed at the 2018 World Economic Forum in Davos. Through Charisma Media, Strang has shaped evangelical media by publishing books, magazines, and news content addressing charismatic church issues, political activism, and spiritual topics. His work includes financial relationships with figures like John Hagee and coverage of contemporary charismatic church controversies, as discussed in his writings as recently as 2025.
