John Charles Hagee (born April 12, 1940, in Baytown, Texas) is an American evangelical pastor, televangelist, and prominent evangelical leader. He began pastoral work in 1958, was ordained in 1966, and founded Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he serves as senior pastor. Cornerstone Church grew into one of the nation's largest megachurches with a focus on evangelical Christianity, end-times prophecy, and conservative Christian values. Through John Hagee Ministries, he broadcasts sermons across the United States and Canada. Hagee is the founder and national chairman of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the largest Christian Zionist organization in America and a major evangelical pro-Israel advocacy and lobbying group influencing U.S. policy through religious mobilization. He is a prominent Christian Zionist leader known for his strong support of Zionism and advocacy for unwavering U.S. support for Israel based on biblical interpretations. Hagee’s influence extends through authorship of numerous books on theology, prophecy, and current events, media appearances, and decades of preaching, writing, and activism, making him a key voice in Christian Zionism.
