About
Shmuel Yisroel Nosson Goldberg (Shai) is the youngest son of Rabbi Efrem Goldberg and Yocheved Goldberg, born in mid-October 2012 in Boca Raton, Florida, after six sisters and following the family's previous stillbirth of a son in 2001. Named after his great-grandfathers, his brit milah ceremony was held on October 22, 2012, at Boca Raton Synagogue, attended by over 500 congregants, politicians, rabbis, and representatives from South Florida's Jewish organizations, marking a major communal celebration. The family lives in a modest home in a close-knit Orthodox Jewish neighborhood surrounding the synagogue on Montoya Circle. As the only living son in a family of rabbis and communal leaders, he is positioned within a prominent Orthodox Jewish community in South Florida. Shai celebrated his bar mitzvah in October 2025 at Boca Raton Synagogue, as noted in community social media posts congratulating Rabbi Efrem Goldberg, Yocheved Goldberg, and the family.
