Sayyid Theyab bin Tariq Al Said is a member of the Omani royal family, part of the Al Said dynasty, and the brother of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, who became Sultan of Oman on 2020-01-11 following the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Born into the influential bin Tariq branch, which descends from Sultan Taimur bin Faisal, Theyab is one of several siblings including former ministers and advisors who have held key positions in Omani governance. His father, Tariq bin Taimur, served as Prime Minister under Sultan Qaboos from 1970 to 1972. Theyab bin Tariq was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister for Financial and Economic Affairs in August 2020 by his brother Sultan Haitham, overseeing critical aspects of economic policy including Vision 2040, foreign investment attraction, and fiscal reforms. His tenure in this role ended in 2021, though he continues to influence royal and national affairs.
