About
Sarah Ransome is a British memoirist, activist, and alleged victim of sex trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Born on January 1, 1984, in South Africa, she moved to New Zealand as a child after her parents' divorce and later relocated to the United States to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. In 2006, she claims to have been introduced to Epstein's network through a modeling agency connection, leading to her recruitment and subsequent abuse. Ransome has publicly shared her experiences and collaborated with other survivors, including Virginia Giuffre, on advocacy efforts to raise awareness about sex trafficking and hold perpetrators accountable. She detailed her experiences in her 2016 memoir 'The Mystery of the Silenced No More: Surviving My Journey to Hell and Back,' describing coercion into sexual acts and witnessing exploitation within Epstein's circle. Ransome filed a lawsuit against Epstein's estate in 2017, seeking compensation as a victim, and provided testimony in related legal proceedings. She has also named Jean-Luc Brunel as part of her accusations. In 2019, she retracted some earlier claims about Epstein possessing incriminating tapes of prominent individuals, admitting they were fabricated to draw attention to her story and protect herself from threats, though she has maintained her core allegations of abuse. Despite facing criticism for the retractions, she continues to speak out on survivor issues and has been involved in advocacy groups focused on human rights and anti-trafficking initiatives.
