Ron Prosor (born October 11, 1958) is a prominent Israeli diplomat, writer, and columnist with a distinguished career in international diplomacy. He began his diplomatic journey with roles including political consul at the Israeli embassy in Washington and later served as Director-General of Israel's Foreign Ministry. From 2007 to 2011, he served as Israel's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, navigating complex bilateral relations. His tenure as Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2011 to 2015 was particularly notable, during which he succeeded Reuben and vigorously defended Israeli positions on global stages. Following this, he served as Ambassador to Italy from 2017 to 2021, fostering economic and cultural ties between the two nations (succeeded by Naor Gilon). Since August 22, 2022, Prosor has served as Israel's Ambassador to Germany, continuing his influential role in European diplomacy. Additionally, he heads the Abba Eban Institute for International Diplomacy at the IDC Herzliya Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy, contributing to diplomatic education and discourse in Israel.
