About
Robert Kurlander is a New York-based American conservative activist and entrepreneur who gained notoriety in 2020 for conspiring with his then-girlfriend Aimee Harris to steal and sell Ashley Biden's personal diary and other items. The pair discovered the diary abandoned in a Florida home where Harris had been staying and attempted to sell it to Project Veritas for $40,000, but the deal fell through due to concerns over authenticity and legality. Kurlander then facilitated the diary's transfer to Rudy Giuliani, who was acting on behalf of Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, in exchange for $40,000 paid by Giuliani's associates. The diary's contents were later leaked to the National File website just before the 2020 election. Kurlander was arrested in 2022 and pleaded guilty in August 2022 to federal charges of conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines, admitting he received $15,000 as part of the compensation. On April 9, 2024, he was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to three years of probation, six months of home confinement, and ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution to the government for investigative costs. The case highlighted ethical concerns in conservative activism, political interference, and illegal activities aimed at influencing elections. Beyond this incident, Kurlander has been involved in various entrepreneurial ventures, though details remain limited in public records.
