About
Rebecca Shore is the wife of Raphael Shore. Originally from New York, she moved to Israel in 1984, settling in the Old City of Jerusalem with her husband and children. She studied at Vassar College and received a degree in Psychology from the State University of New York. In her career, she founded Art From the Heart...of Jerusalem in 1990, producing and selling Judaica artwork including hand-touched giclees and children's pieces featuring biblical quotes and whimsical designs inspired by Jerusalem's history and spiritual atmosphere. She is a writer, producer, and director for JerusalemU documentary films, including Beneath the Helmet, Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference (screened on PBS), Converts: The Journey of Becoming Jewish (co-director with Oren Rosenfeld), Marathon Mom (2025), When the Smoke Clears (2017), and Mekonen: The Journey of an African Jew (directorial debut). As creative director at JerusalemU, she collaborates frequently with her husband Raphael Shore's production company, Imagination Productions. She also works as an educator and international lecturer, and blogs for Times of Israel on topics like Israeli motherhood, soldier parents' experiences, and Jewish traditions.
