About
Rabbi Kenneth Brander is Rabbi Emeritus of Boca Raton Synagogue, founder of Ohr Torah Stone, and former Vice President of Yeshiva University. He is the inaugural Dean of Yeshiva University's Center for the Jewish Future (CJF), an initiative that leverages university resources to foster leadership and enrich the contemporary Jewish community. Brander also served as founding dean of the Boca Raton Community Kollel and founder of the Weinbaum Yeshiva High School of Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He began his rabbinic career in 1986 as assistant rabbi at Manhattan's Lincoln Square Synagogue, where he served for four years before acting as rabbi from 1990 to 1991. In recognition of his expertise, Rabbi Brander received special ordination in medical ethics from Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel. He pursued a PhD in general philosophy at Florida Atlantic University, with a dissertation addressing synagogue purposes in an American context. Throughout his career, Brander has focused on infusing Jewish leadership, education, and ethical guidance into communal life, particularly within Modern Orthodox circles.
