Nicholas Alan 'Nick' Searcy, born March 7, 1959, in Cullowhee, North Carolina, is an American actor, director, and producer known for his work in film, television, and stage. Raised in a family that valued education and the arts, with parents Robert and Mary Searcy, he began his film acting career in his native North Carolina, debuting in Days of Thunder (1990), which was partially filmed there. From 1982 to 1989, Searcy lived in New York City, performing in Off-Broadway productions including Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, and Jesus Christ Superstar. Returning to North Carolina, he produced, directed, and starred in his first independent feature, Carolina Low (1997), and built a resume with roles in blockbusters like The Fugitive (1993) and Nell (1994). Searcy gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Art Mullen on the FX series Justified (2010-2015). Other notable credits include the miniseries From the Earth to the Moon (1998) as Deke Slayton and films such as The Shape of Water (2017). He has directed films with conservative themes, including Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer (2018) and Terror on the Prairie (2022) for The Daily Wire, collaborating professionally and financially with Jeremy Boreing.
