The New Israel Fund is a United States-based philanthropic organization and nonprofit established in 1979. It is the largest foreign donor to progressive causes in Israel, having provided over $300 million to more than 900 Israeli civil society organizations. Its objective is to promote social justice, democracy, equality, and human rights for all Israelis through support for progressive civil rights and social justice initiatives. The organization is active on issues including civil and human rights, women's rights, religious status, human rights for Palestinians in Israeli-occupied territories, the rights of Israel's Arab minority, and freedom of speech. It provides grants to NGOs such as the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI).
