Stanley Michael Lynk, commonly known as Michael Lynk, is a Canadian legal academic and jurist born in 1952. He served as the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 from May 2016 to April 2022. Prior to his UN appointment, he practiced law in Toronto specializing in labor and employment law, and served as an associate professor of law at the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) from 1999 until his retirement in 2022, teaching constitutional law, human rights, and international law. His work as Special Rapporteur involved authoring annual reports to the UN Human Rights Council documenting alleged human rights violations in the occupied territories, drawing both praise from human rights organizations and criticism from Israel and its allies. He continues to comment on global human rights issues as a professor emeritus.
