Marwan Muasher, born on January 1, 1956, is a prominent figure in Middle East policy discussions with a career spanning journalism, governance, diplomacy, global finance, and thought leadership. He began his professional career as a journalist for the Jordan Times, Jordan's only English-language newspaper, before transitioning into government service. From 1985 to 1990, he worked at the Ministry of Planning, served as press advisor in the Prime Minister's office, and as Director of the Jordan Information Bureau in Washington, D.C. Muasher held several high-profile diplomatic roles, including as Jordan's first ambassador to Israel, ambassador to the United States, Foreign Minister from 2002 to 2004, and Deputy Prime Minister from 2004 to 2005. Currently, he serves as Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he oversees research on the Middle East and co-chairs the Middle East Program.
