Marianne Ginther Gingrich is an American health care executive and former environmental lobbyist, best known as the second wife of former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich; the couple was married from 1981 to 1999. She was born and raised in Leetonia, Ohio, one of four children of Harry Ginther, the late mayor of Leetonia. As a student at Kent State University, she experienced the 1970 anti-war protest in which four students were killed by the National Guard.
