Alexei 'Lex' Fridman is an American computer scientist, artificial intelligence researcher, and podcaster. Born on August 15, 1983, in Russia, he immigrated with his family to the Chicago area around age 11, shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He attended Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois, and earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from Drexel University in 2010. Fridman began his career at Google and later became a research affiliate and lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where his work focuses on AI, human-robot interaction, autonomous vehicles, machine learning, and systems like Tesla's Autopilot. Since 2018, he has hosted the Lex Fridman Podcast, featuring interviews with prominent figures in science, technology, sports, arts, and politics, including Benjamin Netanyahu.
