About
John Michael 'Jack' Connors Jr. (June 9, 1942–2024) was a Boston advertising executive, philanthropist, and major figure in Boston's business and charitable circles. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he grew up in a two-family house in the Roslindale neighborhood until age 11, when his family relocated to Dedham; his father, John Sr., worked as a technician repairing heating and air-conditioning systems in downtown buildings. A Boston College alumnus from the class of 1963, Connors married Eileen, and together they made significant philanthropic gifts in the late 1990s and early 2000s to Brigham and Women's Hospital, establishing the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women’s Health Research and the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women and Newborns. He founded the Hill Holliday advertising agency and served as Board Chair of Mass General Brigham starting in 1996, leading the organization for 16 years and championing the integration that formed the modern health care system. A longtime champion of the Brigham for over 30 years, he was recognized as a legendary leader, advisor, mentor, and friend in Boston's philanthropic and business communities.
