About
The IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism (2016) is a non-legally binding international framework adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and endorsed by over 40 countries, serving as a global standard for identifying antisemitic rhetoric and actions. The definition states: 'Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.' It is accompanied by 11 illustrative examples of contemporary antisemitism, including Holocaust denial, classic tropes, and certain expressions targeting Israel that may cross into antisemitism.
