About
Idit Klein is the founding executive director, President, and CEO of Keshet, a U.S.-based nonprofit organization promoting LGBTQ inclusion and equality within Jewish life. She has led the organization in initiatives such as producing the 2005 documentary 'Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School,' for which she served as executive producer. Prior to Keshet, Klein worked professionally in the Israeli-Palestinian peace movement and social justice sector in Israel, where she was a leader in the LGBTQ community and helped envision the Jerusalem Open House. Her commitment to activism was shaped by learning about her family's Holocaust history. Keshet receives major financial support from donors including Lynn Schusterman. A magna cum laude graduate of Yale University (class of 1994), Klein is based in Boston, Massachusetts. She has been recognized with awards such as Jewish Women International’s Women to Watch Award in 2019 and Brandeis University’s Bernard Reisman Award for Professional Excellence in 2022. No major controversies, legal issues, or scandals are documented in available sources.
