About
Hatun Tash, legally known as Derya Little, is a Turkish-born former Muslim who converted to Christianity and became a prominent British preacher and Christian apologist. She is the director of DCCI Ministries (Defend Christ Critique Islam) and is known for her street preaching and apologetic outreach targeting Muslims, especially through frequent and often confrontational debates at Speakers' Corner in London's Hyde Park. Tash engages in public criticism of Islam using provocative visual aids, such as punctured or modified Qur'ans, posters, and direct confrontations to challenge Islamic teachings and defend Christianity. Her activism has made her a polarizing figure and central figure in modern street apologetics, attracting fervent support from Christians and groups like Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre, while facing intense opposition from some Muslim groups. She has been the victim of multiple violent attacks and plots, including an assault in 2020 where a book was snatched from her, a high-profile stabbing incident at Speakers' Corner in July 2021 by an unidentified assailant wearing a black hood that injured her face and hand, and a stabbing attack in London on July 26, 2022, allegedly perpetrated by an Islamist named Mohammed, as well as a prior attempted acid attack. Despite these threats, multiple police detentions related to public order, and the significant risks associated with her confrontational style of evangelism, she remains an active figure in the UK's religious discourse.
