About
Dmitry Leus is a Russian-British businessman and financier born in 1970 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. He studied physics at Turkmen State University before pursuing banking studies at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Leus began his career as a leading FOREX specialist and has accumulated over 25 years of experience in banking and economics. He is the CEO, Chief Investment Officer, and Founder of Imperium Investments Ltd, with involvement in numerous business ventures across Europe and the Middle East, including banking and real estate, and reported ties to the Kremlin. Leus has been active in UK politics as a donor to the Conservative Party (Tories) and served as president of the Runnymede and Weybridge Conservative Association from 2021-06 to 2022-02. Despite parliamentary questions raised by MP Liam Byrne in 2022 regarding his background, Leus was granted British citizenship along with his son. He has a family foundation, the Leus Family Foundation. Leus faced a conviction in Russia, described in a 2024 opinion commissioned by his lawyers from former judge Sergei Pashin as unsound and potentially politically motivated. He successfully lobbied Chatham House to remove references to him from a 2022 report due to alleged inaccuracies.
