Diane v.S. Levy, born April 5, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Virginia and Robert von Schlegell, is a philanthropist, interior designer, and board member. She earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from Pine Manor College in 1971 and owned and operated The Very Thing, an interior design company in Winnetka, Illinois. Married to Robert M. Levy since November 8, 1992, they raised four children. Her philanthropy includes co-founding the Diane v.S. and Robert M. Levy Civics Education Fund at the Georgia Historical Society; establishing the Robert M. Levy and Diane v.S. Levy Family Foundation in 1997 in Illinois; serving on the boards of the Field Museum in Chicago and the Chicago Botanic Garden; serving on three Curatorial Committees at the Art Institute of Chicago; former 10-year board member of the Penn Museum in Philadelphia's Board of Overseers; donating to Vanderbilt University, including a $1.1 million matching gift initiative in 2024 for Opportunity Vanderbilt scholarships and a $5 million endowment for undergraduate internships; and co-funding an endowed university professorship at the University of Pennsylvania held by Emanuel.
