About
David Norman Bossie is a prominent American conservative political activist, writer, and strategist, best known as the president and chairman of Citizens United, a conservative advocacy group. Citizens United gained national attention for its role in the landmark 2010 Supreme Court case, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which significantly altered campaign finance law. Bossie's career spans several decades in Republican politics. He served as the chief investigator for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee during the Clinton administration and as the deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Following Trump's election, Bossie was briefly appointed as a Senior Advisor to the President in 2017. He is also a frequent commentator on conservative media outlets and has co-authored several books. Bossie has faced allegations and criticism throughout his career, including accusations of leaking information and partisan overreach during his time as chief investigator, and allegations of unwanted sexual advances in 2008, which he denied. His leadership of Citizens United and its role in campaign finance deregulation continues to be a point of significant public and political debate.
