Annette Silverstein Mendik was the sister of Larry Silverstein and former wife of Bernard H. Mendik. She was part of the founding era of Silverstein Properties, established in 1957 as Harry G. Silverstein & Sons by her father and brother. After her father's death in 1966, she continued involvement in the family real estate business in partnership with her brother Larry Silverstein and her then-husband Bernard H. Mendik, acquiring properties in Manhattan. The business partnership ended in 1977, the same year as her divorce from Bernard H. Mendik, amid reported disagreements over real estate strategies. Annette Silverstein Mendik passed away on April 6, 1981, and is interred at Westchester Hills Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, Westchester County, New York.
