About
Yehiel Kadishman is an Israeli former government official who served as the Director General of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from 1996 to 1999. In this role, he was a key administrative figure in Netanyahu's first term, overseeing operations and policy implementation within the PMO. His tenure was marked by involvement in significant political controversies, including the 1997 Bar-On Hebron affair, a scandal involving alleged attempts to appoint Roni Bar-On as Attorney General in exchange for political favors related to the Hebron Agreement and to benefit Shas party leader Aryeh Deri. This led to investigations and his implication in corruption probes. In 1999, Kadishman was named a co-defendant in Deri's high-profile corruption trial, facing charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust stemming from alleged efforts to influence judicial appointments and secure benefits for Deri. While Deri was convicted and sentenced to prison, Kadishman was acquitted of the charges against him in subsequent proceedings. Following his departure from the PMO, Kadishman largely retreated from public life, with limited information available on his post-government activities.
