William J. Fehrman, commonly known as Bill Fehrman, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Electric Power (AEP), a major electric utility serving millions of customers across 11 states. In this leadership role, he has focused on financial growth and enhancing customer service. He also serves as an Executive Committee member of the Columbus Partnership. Prior to joining AEP, Fehrman held several high-level executive positions within the energy sector, including President and CEO of MidAmerican Energy Company from 2007 to 2018, President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables, President and CEO of PacifiCorp Energy, and President and CEO of Nebraska Public Power District. Fehrman holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, earned in 1984, and a master’s degree in business administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, obtained in 1998. His career trajectory reflects deep expertise in utilities and renewable energy, with strong ties to the Midwest and Ohio business communities.
