About
The Venetian Resort, officially known as The Venetian Las Vegas, is a premier luxury hotel and casino complex situated on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. Originally developed by businessman Sheldon Adelson through Las Vegas Sands Corporation and opened in 1999, it was constructed on the site of the former Sands Hotel and Casino. The resort introduced an innovative MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)-driven integrated resort model, combining extensive convention space with high-end hospitality and gaming. Adjoined by the Sands Expo and Convention Center, it offers over 4,000 suites, a vast casino floor, multiple theaters, and themed Venetian-inspired architecture including indoor canals and gondola rides. In 2021, Las Vegas Sands sold The Venetian Resort (including The Palazzo and Venetian Expo) to affiliates of Apollo Global Management and VICI Properties for $6.25 billion, with VICI owning the property and Apollo managing operations. The resort continues as a major destination, generating substantial revenue and exemplifying Las Vegas's evolution from traditional casino gaming to multifaceted luxury resorts.
