The U.S. Senate Committee on Finance is a standing committee of the United States Senate with jurisdiction over taxation and other revenue measures generally, bonded debt of the United States, customs, deposit of public moneys, general revenue sharing, health programs under the Social Security Act (including Medicare and Medicaid), national social security, reciprocal trade agreements, tariff and import quotas, transportation of dutiable goods, and oversight of nonprofit organizations and tax-exempt entities. It oversees agencies including the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Joint Committee on Taxation, Social Security Administration, and others.
