He holds advanced degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he attended on a debate scholarship and developed early inventions like a device for tracking shuttle launches. Massie is known for his libertarian-leaning Republican positions, often collaborating with figures like Rand Paul and emphasizing constitutional conservatism. His district spans northern Kentucky, including areas near Cincinnati and Louisville suburbs. Before politics, he founded a company manufacturing RFID inventory control systems and lived off-grid on a solar-powered farm in Kentucky.
