Rebekah Mercer, through the Mercer Family Foundation, has been a major donor to the Tea Party Patriots, providing financial support for its advocacy and political activities.

Tom Trento served as the National Security Chairman for the Tea Party National Convention, a key event organized by Tea Party Patriots, and as a national security advisor to the organization. In these roles, Tea Party Patriots provided him with a platform to influence policy discussions on national security and counter-terrorism, enabling him to shape the movement's stance on Islamic extremism, terrorism, immigration, and related issues. He provided expertise and guidance on these topics, organized events and briefings for the organization's members and leadership, and influenced its overall positions on national security and counter-terrorism policies. He may have received financial compensation or reimbursement for his involvement.

While 9/12 Project focused more on 'character and values,' many of its local leaders were simultaneously leaders in the Tea Party Patriots. The two groups shared donor bases and mailing lists, functioning as the two halves of the same movement (9/12 being the cultural wing, TPP being the political wing).
