Steven Price, born in 1962 to a Jewish family as the son of Margery and Robert Price—whose father served as president of Price Communications Corporation, a New York City-based publishing and broadcasting company—holds a B.S. from Brown University (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude) and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. After law school, he practiced as a lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell, worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs, and served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense. He later held positions at private equity firms, including as former Senior Managing Director at Centerbridge Partners. Price is co-founder and CEO of 25Madison, Executive Chairman of Townsquare Media, and co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks. He married Tina Gitlin in 1991 in a Jewish ceremony at Park Avenue Synagogue, and together they direct philanthropy through the Tina & Steven Price Charitable Foundation, supporting New York-area Jewish organizations such as the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty and UJA-Federation (where Price serves on the board), as well as Hillel International, American Enterprise Institute, Commentary magazine, Jewish Theological Seminary, and Council on Foreign Relations.
