The 3rd congressional district of South Carolina is a congressional district in western South Carolina bordering Georgia and North Carolina. It includes all of Abbeville, Anderson, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Oconee, Pickens, and Saluda counties, and portions of Greenville and Newberry counties. Mostly rural with an economy centered on manufacturing in Anderson and Greenwood, it is home to Clemson University, the state's second-largest university by enrollment. As of the 2020 Census, it represents approximately 732,102 residents. It has a Cook Partisan Voting Index of R+21, the most Republican district in South Carolina, and in the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump received 71.0% and Kamala Harris 28.0%. Historically, it was represented by Lindsey Graham in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003.
