About
Snyder Communications Inc. (SNC) was an American advertising, marketing, and public relations firm co-founded by Daniel (Dan) Snyder and his sister Michele Snyder in 1990. The company specialized in outsourced marketing services, including direct marketing, database marketing, proprietary product sampling, sponsored information display in prime locations, call centers, and field sales. It grew rapidly through acquisitions and was taken public in 1996. In March 2000, the company was acquired by the French advertising and communications conglomerate Havas Advertising (later Havas SA) for approximately $2.1 billion in cash and stock. Following the acquisition, it was integrated into Havas's Arnold Worldwide Partners unit. Dan Snyder used the proceeds from the sale to purchase the NFL's Washington Redskins (now Washington Commanders) later in 1999 (deal closed in 1999, prior to the SNC sale completion).
