About
Smith & Kraus Publishers is a family-owned boutique publishing company founded in 1990 by Marisa Smith and Eric Kraus in a garage as a book packing operation, initially meeting demand for monologue books for actors' auditions and classes. It has evolved into the global leader in trade theater books, specializing in monologues, plays, drama, theater resources for actors, teachers, and the theatrical community, as well as selected non-fiction titles, with over 700 titles in print. The company published Kenneth Levin's The Oslo Syndrome in 2005. Leadership includes co-founders Marisa Smith (now consultant and playwright) and Eric Kraus (supporting family vision), along with their sons Peter Kraus (President/CEO) and Luke Kraus (CFO and in-house counsel).
