About
Wandrea' ArShaye 'Shaye' Moss is an American election official from Georgia, best known for her role in the 2020 U.S. presidential election and the subsequent wave of misinformation targeting election workers. She is the daughter of Ruby Freeman, and both were falsely accused of election fraud by Donald Trump, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and other allies following the 2020 election. Born and raised in Georgia, Moss began her career in public service in 2011 when she joined the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections, where she handled critical tasks including voter registration, processing absentee ballots, and tabulating election results. Surveillance video from State Farm Arena in Atlanta was misrepresented to claim ballot stuffing, leading to widespread harassment, racist threats, death threats, and doxxing against Moss and her family. The allegations were debunked by Georgia officials, and courts ruled them defamatory. Moss filed defamation lawsuits against Giuliani and others, resulting in a $148 million judgment against Giuliani in December 2023. The ordeal forced Moss to resign from her position in 2022. In June 2022, Moss provided emotional testimony before the U.S. House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Her courage earned her the Profile in Courage Award in May 2022 and the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Joe Biden on January 6, 2023. Moss has since become an advocate for election integrity and worker safety.
