Sam Miller is a British television director and former actor, born on 28 September 1962 in Saxmundham, England. He initially gained recognition as an actor for his role as Sgt. John Maitland in the ITV police procedural drama The Bill, appearing from 1990 to 1993. Transitioning to directing, Miller has helmed numerous high-profile television projects, including pilot episodes for series such as I May Destroy You, Fortitude, Rellik, Good Cop, and This Life. He won a BAFTA Award for Directing on I May Destroy You and has received Emmy nominations for his work. Additional credits include episodes of Black Mirror and the series A Gentleman in Moscow.
