About
Ruthie Blum is an American-born Israeli journalist and right-wing columnist, the daughter of influential neoconservative intellectuals Norman Podhoretz and Midge Decter. She has been based in Israel since 1991 and began her career writing features for The Jerusalem Post, where she advanced to foreign editor and later senior editor. Blum subsequently served as managing editor of The Algemeiner Journal before becoming a columnist for Israel Hayom, focusing on Israeli security, politics, and criticism of perceived biases in international coverage of the Middle East. She has also served as an adviser in Prime Minister Netanyahu's office. A frequent media commentator on Israeli television, radio, and international outlets, she advocates conservative positions on defense policies, counter-terrorism, and opposes left-wing Israeli governments. Her work often reflects neoconservative themes inherited from her family background in American intellectual circles. Ruthie Blum is married to documentary filmmaker David Blum, and they live in Modi'in, Israel, with their children.
