About
Ronald Haddad served as Chief of Police of Dearborn, Michigan, from April 2007 until his retirement on July 12, 2013. He was the first Arab-American police chief in Dearborn, a city with one of the largest Arab-American populations in the United States, primarily of Lebanese descent. Prior to this role, he spent 27 years with the Detroit Police Department, advancing to the rank of commander in the Major Crimes Unit. Haddad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University. His tenure focused on community policing amid the city's diverse demographics, though it included controversies such as policies restricting filming of police activities and involvement in civil rights litigation, including being named in Wood's civil rights lawsuit following a 2010 arrest. Following retirement, Haddad has maintained a low public profile, with limited information on subsequent professional activities.
