Ridgewood High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in grades 9-12 as the only secondary school in the Ridgewood Public Schools district, located in Ridgewood, Bergen County, New Jersey. Founded in 1892 by principal B.C. Wooster, who reorganized the ninth grade into a freshman class, it became a four-year school in September 1986 with the addition of the freshman Class of 1990. The school underwent extensive renovation in 1976-1977 following a $4 million bond issue and received the Secondary School Recognition Award from the U.S. Department of Education in 1987. Notable alumni include David Schenker, who graduated in 1986. As of the 2023-24 school year, it has 1,740 students enrolled, 137.5 full-time equivalent classroom teachers, a student-teacher ratio of 12.7:1, with 40 students (2.3%) eligible for free lunch and 13 (0.7%) for reduced lunch. School hours are 8:20 AM to 3:30 PM, with the mascot being the Rams, competing in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.
