Richard L. Gordon, professionally known as Dick Gordon, is a veteran Canadian broadcast journalist and award-winning public radio host specializing in international reporting. He began his career at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in 1977, serving as parliamentary reporter, Moscow correspondent, and South Asia correspondent for radio and television. From 1997, he was senior correspondent, backup host, and reporter for CBC's This Morning, covering conflicts and unrest in Bosnia, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Mozambique, Pakistan, India, and the Middle East. He hosted WBUR's The Connection from 2001 to 2005, including broadcasts from Baghdad in 2003, before the show's abrupt cancellation and his layoff. He then hosted The Story with Dick Gordon at WUNC in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, from 2006 to 2013. His awards include two Gabriel Awards, two National Journalism Awards, and two ACTRA Award nominations for excellence in reporting. In 2013, he returned to his native Canada to be closer to his aging mother and daughters.
