He served as chairman of Israel Discount Bank from 1982 to 1986 (previously reported as CEO), playing a key role in steering the bank's operations amid Israel's evolving economic landscape. Beyond banking, Recanati founded and chaired the Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), a major international shipping company, expanding his influence into global maritime trade and establishing himself as a bridge between Israeli business elites and American markets.
